@missmimiskitchen

For this weeks WONDER WOMEN WE KNOW we speak to @missmimiskitchen.

Miss Mimi is a primary school teacher turned cook! She caters to all your needs. Be it a weeks holiday away, a dinner in town, or some stocking of the freezer. Miss Mimi has your back!

1. Go to Happy Hour drink?

I love my dads take on Aperol. Aperol, a splash of vodka, and champagne – go hard or go home in this household!

2. What’s one item you have to take in every handbag?

So random, but obsessed with my Nivea nude lip balm – which sadly they’ve stopped selling and I’m on my last one! I’m also a bit of a granny and don’t go anywhere without my pill box – just in case!

3. What are you reading, watching, listening to?

Loved Normal People on Netflix. Thoroughly enjoying my podcasts – Come for Supper with @alexandradudley, Table Manners with @jessieware, and The Not Perfect podcast with @poppyjamie.

4. What are your top self-care tips?

The @goldfadenmd exfoliating scrub, the @eve_lom Rescue mask or a @starskinbeauty face mask, then the super-hydrating @beautypie Japan fusion moisturiser (not forgetting a few drops of @tan_luxe in there too!).

5. What advice would you give to teenage you?

Calm the f*** down – read, sing and laugh more!

6. What advice would you give to other women trying to get into/working in your industry?

Don’t compare yourself to others. You do you and keep going.

7. What’s been your biggest challenge so far?

Mental health. Keeping myself going when everything seems to try and push me back. But I’ve done it. And will keep doing so!

8. What drives you?

I personally wish the answer to this was a sexy male chauffeur in an Aston Martin DB9… but I’m pretty sure that’s not what you mean. And I’m also not sure I could sit in the back in that baby. I would have to say my dream of being successful and one say having my cookbook in the @dauntsbooks bookshop cooking section which will stand next to my insanely successful deli on let’s say Marylebone high street. (Big dreams, I know!).

9. Who inspires you?

I genuinely have too many people to answer this question. Parents, Mary Berry, myself sometimes.

10. What’s next for you?

Well, in the current situation, I’m not quite sure. But I’m going to get my second training at Ballymaloe in September for three months. Leith’s degree wasn’t quite enough for me. One thing I’ve learnt, and frequently tell the children in my class, is you can never stop learning. Never.

11. What’s your favourite Stone & Mason product?

Obsessed with the Stamford Blue Lagoon!!

12. How do you style your Stone & Mason?

Denim jacket, white maxi dress and plimsoles. So simple yet makes it really stand out!
